POSITION SUMMARY:  The Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1 to provide a variety of administrative support for grant-funded projects in the Research programs. The successful candidate should possess a willingness to learn new skills, take direction from their supervisor, and participate in training required to effectively perform the functions of the position. Duties include: making travel arrangements and completing travel reimbursements; ordering supplies and materials using a University-issued P-Card and/or through Lobo Mart; maintaining and updating program files and records; basic data entry; copying and sending facsimile materials; and other miscellaneous job-related duties. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of University purchasing systems (P-card, Lobo Mart, and internal purchase orders), or similar financial systems to purchase items
Experience:
With PC computers, skill in word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry
Making travel arrangements and preparing travel reimbursements
Maintaining schedules and calendars
Composing and writing routine correspondence
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
