POSITION SUMMARY:  The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatrics, is seeking a dynamic individual who is confident, self-motivated and highly energized who will perform and/or oversee a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, and planning activities that will require the applicant to have the ability to work independently with good problem-solving skills. Under general supervision, this position performs and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, faculty support, and planning activities within a very busy academic unit, some of which require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills. Duties include: overseeing the unit's main office (answering telephones, interaction and problem solving with visitors, faculty, and students); monitoring equipment check-out, facilitating meetings and special events, maintaining the web site; creating and editing office correspondence and compiling data reports from departmental statistics; and performing other miscellaneous duties as needed. The successful candidate must possess strong oral, written communication and organizational skills and have experience multi-tasking.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  UNM work experience
Knowledge in/of:
Developing physician on-call schedule with Amion program
Rules and regulations for residency and fellowship programs
Experience in:
Facilitating special events and meetings
Developing and processing grant applications

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:  This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
