DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The School of Photographic Arts and Sciences invites applicants to apply for a tenure track, senior faculty positions in its Fine Art photography program. This position begins in fall of 2009. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the advanced curriculum and mentorship of a MFA program, as well as the ability to lead introductory and upper level courses in an undergraduate BFA program. Based on the demands of these areas, candidates must have a thorough knowledge of digital and analog photography and current artistic practices, including the moving image. They must also be able to provide intellectual leadership and vision in the continued development and vibrancy of the BFA and MFA programs, their students and curriculum.

THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT:

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
•MFA in photography, digital photography, digital media or related visual arts field required.
•A minimum of seven years of fulltime teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
•Demonstrated expertise teaching in advanced MFA curriculum, with mentorship of MFA students in thesis work.
•Comprehensive knowledge and skills in digital and analog-photography, and its inherent contemporary and historical practices.
•A substantial record of accomplishment, demonstrated by gallery and museum exhibition and publication, as well as other appropriate academic and professional distinctions commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
•Exceptionally strong, demonstrated conceptual, historical and practical understanding of the fine art field, with strong writing and verbal skills.
Preferred:
•Moving media and installation art expertise highly preferable.
