Description & Requirement This posting will remain open until a qualified applicant is identified. In order to provide a minimum posting period, it will not be closed before Aug-28-2008. Position will require travel to ski area for competitions. Must have a valid NM driver's license, obtain UNM defensive driving certificate and be able to operate 15 passenger van. Other duties as assigned.
This is an on-call position, the work is seasonal and the hours are not guaranteed.
POSITION SUMMARY: The University of New Mexico, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Mountain West Conference, is accepting applications for a development assistant to assist with the UNM Ski Team. This position is responsible for analyzing daily and weekly training schedules and to work with student athletes to help develop their technique in skiing. Additionally, the position has the following responsibilities and duties: Responsible for assisting with travel arrangements, coordinates with other staff and outside constituencies, operates personal computer for record keeping and correspondence as well as for developing promotional media, prepares reports and accounts of fundraising activity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to travel to ski areas and work outside in all weather conditions
Experience with/in:
Working with members, donors, and ski industry officials
The field of sports science and nutrition
Preparing daily and weekly training schedules for ski team athletes
Personal computers, especially for promotional activities
Local skiing community and knowledge of ski team history and sponsors
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
