POSITION SUMMARY: The University of New Mexico Department of Neurology is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our team. The successful candidate will work with the department faculty and staff to complete required internal and external grant and contract forms for submissions to Federal & State agencies as well as pharmaceutical sponsored studies. Duties will also include monthly financial reporting and reconciliation of income and expenses in restricted accounts and serve as department timekeeper in the University banner system. We encourage all those who are self- organized, dependable, possess good verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, and have accounting experience to apply.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.
A completed Bachelors degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Working with UNM pre-award forms
Knowledge of NIH electronic submissions
Experience with:
Grant or contract administration
Accounting
UNM Banner/Hyperion programs
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Candidates for this position must be eligible for employment as verified by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA); those individuals on the OIG/GSA Exclusion Lists will not be considered for hire. Once hired, periodic checks will be made for eligibility of continued employment.
