POSITION SUMMARY:  The University of New Mexico Cancer Center is a statewide provider of cancer services and is influential in the cancer care field throughout the State of New Mexico. The Cancer Center at Lovelace Medical Center currently seeks an Oncology Nurse who has experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Oncology nurses provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population including appropriate supportive care, administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements and other oncology treatments as prescribed. They perform assessments and triage for new and ongoing patients and provide family support including referrals and bereavement counseling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.

OR

Bachelor's degree in Nursing; at least 1 year of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.

State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with New Mexico.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous oncology experience including chemotherapy administration
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Oncology certification
 
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.
CPR Certified
