Postdoctoral positions are available immediately at Albert Einstein College of Medicine to study the PI3K/PTEN/AKT cascade in mouse models of cancer.
Ongoing projects utilize in vivo model systems i) to identify and deconstruct signaling cascades altered during neoplastic transformation, and ii) to identify and characterize signaling nodes through which the PI3K cascade intersects with other growth-promoting pathways, including estrogen signaling. For representative examples of current research directions, see Vilgelm, Cancer Res., 2006; Yeager, Cancer Res., 2007; Yeager, Cancer Res., 2008.
Qualified individuals must have strong laboratory expertise in molecular and cell biology, demonstrated experience with the analysis of mouse models, publications in English language journals, and be prepared to work in a highly competitive environment. Ability to work independently, demonstrated creativity, and especially very high motivation are expected.  Green card holders or American citizens are preferred, but excellence and independence are most important.
