POSITION SUMMARY:  The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology has research facilities that include a variety of major equipment for NMR, mass spectrometry, x-ray diffractometry and spectrometers for light scattering, fluorescence, Raman, FTIR, CD and MCD studies.

We are seeking a candidate, under direct supervision, to setup lab experiments and/or participate in the fabrication and installation of equipment for specified laboratory research projects. The candidate will perform laboratory tests and/or experiments which may include various assays, specialized techniques such as chemical synthesis and physical characterization of transition of metal compounds, and following established procedures or protocols.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED; with at least 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience in the following areas:
With Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
With Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)
With Infrared (IR) Spectroscopy
General computer skills
Standard lab techniques and skills
