  • Teach and advise within the Surgical Technology Program options.

  • Perform clinical visits in the OR in order to evaluate students' progress through clinical rotations in the Surgical Technology Program.

  • Actively participate in the assessment of the overall effectiveness of the Surgical Technology Program options' curriculum and delivery.

  • Actively participate in the assessment of compliance with all Accreditation Standards and maintenance of programmatic accreditation in assigned areas

  • Represent the Surgical Technology Program with healthcare organizations.

  • Actively participate in the orientation and training of clinical preceptors and staff specific to programmatic policies and outcomes.

  • Maintain expertise in area of teaching responsibility.

  • Actively participate and collaborate with faculty and staff within the Surgical Technology at BHCC.

  • Collaborate and work with the Surgical Technology Faculty/Staff, Dean and Assistant Dean of the Health Science Division regarding all aspects of the Surgical Technology program needs, assessment, and on-going operations.

  • Actively participate as a faculty member in the general College community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field.

  • Current License and/or certification as a Surgical Technologist in Massachusetts, or ability to obtain upon hire

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Surgical Technologist.

  • Minimum of two years teaching or precepting surgical technology students

  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.

  • Two-Five years teaching experience in Surgical Technology.

  • Community college teaching experience preferred.

  • Experience with using a Learning Management System.

  • Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language is preferred.


Additional Information:
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate with Education & Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
