Description
The Department of Theatre at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga welcomes applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Costume Design beginning August 1, 2025. Salary is $56,000 plus benefits. The Department of Theatre is a NAST accredited program offering a B.A. in Theatre, with concentrations in Acting, Directing, Design/Technology, Education, and Entrepreneurship.
Duties include: designing and supervision of the build of costumes for a four-show season, teaching Introduction to Theatre as well as courses in area of specialization each semester, mentoring student lab work, costume shop and budget management, and maintaining costume inventory.
Qualifications
Qualifications: MFA in Costume Design is required. Evidence of success in costume design, rendering and sketching, construction skills, basic make-up skills, and an ability to work in a collaborative environment is desired. Prior teaching at the university level is preferred.
