Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Planning, Performance and Technology is responsible for:
  • Working with the President and members of the campus community to develop, implement, and evaluate the College's strategic and annual plans.
  • Identifying, monitoring, and reporting the key performance metrics for the College's institutional accreditation (HLC)
  • Identifying, monitoring, and reporting the key performance metrics for the College's strategic plan
  • Supervising, coordinating, and integrating the Research and Analytics and the Information Technology Departments
  • Supporting the efforts of employees across the College in efforts toward continuous quality improvement.
  • Advancing college-wide performance, excellence and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Maintaining reliable, useful, and meaningful information that supports performance-based measurements to meet the needs of both internal and external constituencies of the College.
  • Providing information, counsel, and support to the College President.

  • Supports the President in all strategic and annual planning activities, and evaluation processes.
  • Provides leadership for the Research and Analytics, and Information Technology Services Departments, with a focus on data integrity, analytics, and reporting; information infrastructure, architecture, security, and storage; data center operations; software development and implementation; network services; information security; client and applications support; and telecommunications.
  • Oversees creation of the Information Technology Strategic Plan including planning for future information technology services and the requirements of the College; oversees the timely implementation of approved plans and measures progress against information technology goals.
  • Develops and publishes planning documents, i.e., Strategic Long-Range Plan, Annual Plan, Fact Book, and periodic reports on the status of specific initiatives.
  • Supports the Higher Learning Commission's Institutional Accreditation process, including the submission of the annual institutional updates.
  • Manages and coordinates the Illinois Community College Board's Recognition (licensure) process.
  • Develop and execute digital strategies to drive innovation and technological change
  • Champions and provides leadership for Institutional Research to ensure an ongoing culture of analytics, assessment, institutional effectiveness, and continuous improvement by developing systems and processes that facilitate the use of meaningful data in decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Provide leadership in streamlining business information systems imbued with metrics, clear accountability, and multiple channels for monitoring performance and making rapid course corrections.
  • Provide strategic leadership related to data infrastructure, data governance, data quality, compliance, and reporting to produce timely and accurate information required to shape and support strategic organizational imperatives.
  • Provide oversight on overall development and implementation of the strategic plan across the organization, track key performance indicators and provide quarterly progress updates to the Board of Trustees.
  • Provide leadership in facilitation of effective project intake prioritization, governance and delivery of enterprise solutions that have the highest return-on -student-investment (ROSI).
  • Provide execution clarity in the implementation of large-scale initiatives that require complex interplay of processes, people and technology.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the implementation, operation, and support of quality, current, safe, secure and reliable IT systems and infrastructures across the organization.

  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree in Administration, Business, Information Technology, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, or related field, or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
      • Master's degree preferred.
    • Experience
      • 10 years of related experience with 7 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in a large, complex organization. Preferred experience in higher education working on a senior-level team.
      • Successful experience in the development of strategic/annual planning and evaluation processes to support institutional efficiencies, effectiveness, and performance excellence.
      • Successful experience in leading, developing, and managing information technology services through a variety of platforms.
      • Required knowledge of data analysis, interpretation, and reporting to support strategic and annual goals.
      • Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining a performance improvement system based on the use of data and information to improve institutional processes and systems and drive a data-informed culture. Preferred experience and understanding of the Baldrige Performance Excellence framework.
      • Understanding of institutional accreditation processes. Preferred experience with the Higher Learning Commission accreditation and reaffirmation processes.
      • Successful experience in programmatic, budgetary, and personnel management.
      • Demonstrated ability to work with populations that are diverse.

  • Hiring range: $194,670-$214,137

    Competitive starting salaries are dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
