Applications are currently being accepted for Production Services Assistant in the Digital Print Production and Mailroom Department, located at San Diego City College. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.
Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.
Knowledge: 1. English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. 2. Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including computer hardware and software. 3. Operations, procedures, and specific rules of the particular office to which assigned. 4. Oral and written communications skills. 5. Record-keeping techniques. 6. Technical aspects of field of specialty. Skills and Abilities: 1. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 3. Maintain logs of work production. 4. Meet schedules and timelines 5. Operate a variety of office machines and equipment, including computer hardware and software and duplicating equipment. 6. Perform difficult clerical work with accuracy, speed, and initiative. 7. Prepare a variety of finished copy formats quickly and accurately from rough drafts and notes. 8. Prepare instructional materials for camera-ready copy. 9. Provide work direction to others as assigned. 10. Spell correctly and use good grammar and punctuation. 11. Understand and follow oral and written directions. 12. Work confidentially with discretion. 13. Work cooperatively with others. Training and Experience: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of increasingly responsible clerical and typing experience. License: Valid California drivers license.
Range 14 ($2,899.07 $4,627.58) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule
Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
